Taking over 'The Shed' at the Young V&A

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I had a temporary change of studio moving into “The Shed” at the Young V&A for 5 weeks in the Spring of 2026.

If felt so inspiring stepping into this space and having an amazing resource: the RISO printer to play with. So I immediately got down to work drawing out some ideas and making some mini prints to hand out at the ‘Meet the Designer’ events - let me know if you managed to bag one!

During my time there, I had so much feedback on the way I changed the space and it made me reflect on how I love to curate a space that makes me happy through colour, light and objects of inspiration. It’s why I made so many Paper Mache pieces they are simply to keep me company and bring me joy in my studio!

Designing Your Dream Space (A gift for you!) While at the Young V&A, I designed a special workshop for families to help them design their own ‘Dream Space’ and if you couldn’t make it to London you can still take part by heading by downloading the worksheets HERE

It uses an isometric grid (my favorite way to play with 3D perspective!) and a series of collage elements you can cut out and layer. You can follow along with this video tutorial to get an idea of how you might approach this activity with your kid or as a fun design challenge for yourself! VIDEO

Let’s chat in the comments: If you could add one “dream” item to your workspace today, what would it be? (Mine would be sign writer’s handiwork!)

Stay colorful,

Jacqueline x
